THIS was something I just couldn’t pass up.

There were just too many amazing artists and too many great songs to not buy it.

Each CD has over 70 mins. of music on it, and it’s the kind of thing where you can just pick ANY of the four, let it play from the beginning, and be completely happy.
It really is an embarrassment of #80s indie pop riches.

This might be my favorite thing I’ve bought all year.
Which is wild, because it’s CDs!

Original Love *Eyes* JP East World 1993

One of my all-time favorite albums. Original Love's third major label album feels like a drive to the beach on a summer day, sunny yet soulful. Original Love never gets mentioned in the same breath as other Shibuya-kei groups like Pizzicato Five or Cornelius (even though leader Takao Tajima fronted P5 in the late 80s), but the band's early 90s albums continue the traditions of city pop and sophisti-pop.
