StarFlowerStudioNYBluebead or Corn lily (Clintonia borealis). This Genus, Clintonia, is named in honor of New York governor Dewitt Clinton (1769 –1828) who is credited with being the visionary that led to the construction of the Erie Canal.
A large number of insects utilize the flowers of this species including butterflies, bees, ants and beetles. Dark blue berries, giving rise to the common name blue bead lily, will follow the yellow flowers and are quickly eaten by birds and mammals.

ThreeDollarBill#Clintonia uniflora being visited by an ant. I don't find any mention of them being adapted for ant pollination so I'm guessing this is just the ant foraging on nectar. This was in Nairn Falls park in Pemberton, BC, Canada. The Falls and area were & are a place of spiritual significance for the Líl'wat Nation.

CohoOne of the lesser hiked trails in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, 11 miles out and back, up Look Prairie trail, out the ridge to Horse Meadow and back. Good work out, big elevation gain for the first three miles. If you want to see an impressive stand of CA native grass, elymus glaucus (ca wild blue rye) its worth the hike.
