Clark County and The Cowlitz Indian Tribe host open house April 24 to present draft concept restoration, trail plans for the Gordy Jolma Family Natural Area | Clark County

Clark County is partnering with The Cowlitz Indian Tribe to restore habitat and provide nature-based recreational opportunities at the Gordy Jolma Family Natural Area in Brush Prairie. The property was part of the former Cedars on Salmon Creek golf course. It was purchased in 2022 by the County’s Legacy Lands program. The program, funded by the Conservation Futures levy, provides funding to preserve lands highly valued for habitat, scenic corridors, and low-impact recreation. These properties enhance the native landscape treasured by locals.

April 19 is our National Day of Action! Join us to peacefully protest at Vancouver's Tesla dealership. We are co-sponsoring this April 19 event with MoveOn-Clark County, 50501 Clark County WA, Pasitos Gigantes, and SW WA LULAC #74013. We will meet at Vancouver's Tesla showroom at the intersection of NE Fourth Plain Blvd and NE Andresen Road. We'll line the sidewalks along Andresen and Fourth Plain, creating an X. This is NOT a march. We will stay on sidewalks and public property, spreading north and south on Andresen and east and west on Fourth Plain. Please DO NOT enter or block the street. Come when you can, stay as long as you want. Bring a large sign to let everyone know we stand united against Musk, DOGE, and unelected oligarchs! We expect a big crowd, so please plan ahead. PLEASE NOTE: We at Indivisible Greater Vancouver (IGV) strongly believe that peaceful, non-violent activism offers social movements the most power to effect change. Through peaceful protests, we set an example of making our voices heard with dignity, empowered by truth. IGV does not condone intimidation, threats, vandalism, interference with access to a business, or any other lawless actions. Many Tesla owners share progressive values and drive an EV for the reduced environmental impact. Some say they can’t afford another car. Let’s focus on Elon and not ramp up the anger that feeds our political divide. If instigators or our opponents attempt to violate our commitment to non-violence, we will try to de-escalate and will call law enforcement if needed to shut down such unauthorized activity. Be alert to attempts to disrupt our event or use violence. Watch for unusual driving nearby and alert others and police if you see anything unusual. Many of us have very strong feelings about issues and people at this time. If you feel that you may have difficulty remaining nonviolent, please do not attend.
