Another picture of a place that no longer exists. Burton Elementary, December 2013. Don't remember how much MDMA I took, maybe 2 grams, but we went to a basketball court and saw this gruesome scene. Right over the top of this ground mural near some hopscotch or whatever schoolyard game chalk lines, we see this massive glob of blood followed by splatter. I couldn't take my eyes off it because the blood was so vivid red. I didn't feel reviled or scared, but just amazed at what I was looking at because it felt so out of place.. an elementary school basketball court at midnight, rolling hard off this molly. It was real blood, no doubt. After finishing that night off, it turns out that less than an hour before, a guy we knew was at that same court playing basketball and got hit or elbowed hard in the face, right over that ground mural. For upgrades, they closed this one sketchy road (138th Ave between Vancouver city limits and Orchards) that was only upgraded once from rural times, narrow two-lane with two drainage ditches on the side and no shoulder. Barely room to walk. Can't tell you how many nights in high school I was completely tanked walking down that unlit road wondering if I'll have to take a swim in the ditch to avoid a similarly tanked driver.. So maybe 2018 or so, they added a shoulder but it was still sketchy. Here we are 16 or so years since walking home wasted, 138th Ave now easily connects from Fourth Plain to 49th Street.
