Jotta asiat ei olisi liian helppoja, samalla rungolla on muidenkin torvijäkälien podeetioita, myös äimätorvijäkälän, joka on C. norvegican näköislaji.

Kasvustot oli vielä varsin nuoria, mikä ehkä selittää sitä, että podeetiot on noinkin pieniä. Norvegicalla voisivat olla jopa kolmesenttisiä, ja rubrotinctankin pitäisi kasvaa yli senttiin.
