My new French #accordion is en route. Asking the factory for courier + tracking number if they have one. But woot! This is a totally different type of accordion, no piano keyboard, but a chromatic button accordion (C system). Gigantic challenge, but a wonderful workout for a right hand that is affected by #stroke damage and so often weaker. The UK newspaper the Guardian has a nice story today about a Welshman in Ohio. The main thrust of the story and indeed its headline focuses on him learning the Welsh language at age 71. But it also covers him impulsively deciding to learn the button #accordion at age 65. Today’s linguistic success was hearing back from a French accordion maker, who replied to a query in French, saying "Votre français est impeccable, pas de problème." Zut alors! 🤣 French Higher in 1989! I know it’s in their interests to make potential customers happy, but I’ll still take that as a win!
