I had a tour of Regensburg in a #ChooChooTrain and learned the reason for the central area's cuteness: the town was so insignificant at the time of WWII, that it was left quite unbombed and most of the old buildings were saved.
The train itself was a tad too grown-up style and size to my taste, so I didn't have the full kid-again nor knees-in-my-mouth experience, but it was fun enough. Recommended!
