IBSIC Conference in Lille was super fun and professionally meaningful as well. Also the projection mappings of the adjoining festival were at least interesting. It was my second time there, and this time I had two working groups to lead. And to write reports about, when everyone else was bar hopping.
Hamburg was nice, a couple of museums and some working. I stayed at Villa Viva and was again really happy with the price quality ratio.
My trip to Lille was very badly calibrated: every train was late, except for the last one, which meant that I was exactly 59 minutes late, not an hour, which makes seeking for compensation moot. Which, by the way, is super easy via the interrail page, I'll never do the DB compensation shit again.
Last leg of the eight of today is well spent in our luxurious replacement bus.
Instead of train to Odense and a replacement bus to hamburg, I'll be doing some breathtaking train-bus-surfing and will arrive in Hamburg a bit before 01, if everything goes well. "Well". Well, anyway, I got to know the Hyllie station pretty thoroughly, and there's a stylish water tower beside it.
Well, it was good idea to leave Malmö a tad early, since there are delays with Öresundståg, the latest being "people running around in the railway area, no idea when they'll stop".
OMG, Malmö SJ Lounge delivers: graved lax, skagenröra, pancakes, roast beef, kokosbollar, and all of the above stuffed in mouth in one go.
Back in good ol' 525, that doesn't even pretend to reach Copenhagen anymore. I'm happy I didn't schedule the earlier train to Malmö, since Viking Line was some 15 minutes late in Stockholm, and I would have missed it.
But more importantly: my #trainsocks.
VR said yes to my refund request, and said it in only a couple of hours. I'm happily surprised!
