The house-munk may be out in the silo field, but there is a happy scampering #chipmunk running around my back porch, peering in the windows and generally looking pleased with itself
The cat is completely uninterested
Day 5: a happy ending
The #chipmunk is now in the field
My kitchen has been disinfected
My cat looks lonely
Only time will tell if the #chipmunk can be successfully rehomed
Shopping list:
1) hav-a-heart trap
2) peanut butter
3) new cat
An update on the #chipmunk saga:
After a couple of sessions of running around the kitchen trying to corner the chipmunk in the bin, my son and I convinced the chipmunk to leave via the front door.
I was very pleased.
Four hours later, it was back.
Comfortable climate? Check. Food available? Check. Predators? Not to make note of.
I guess a few daily rounds of athletic exercise with the humans are an acceptable cost for free rent!
