Suzanne RentToday was an excellent day to see critters. I don't know if this #chipmunk is Alvin, Simon, or Theodore.
He came back 4 or 5 times for more. What a great way to end FY26. π€£
Chip took a peanut from my hand this morning!!
I'm not sure how obvious it is from the videos, but he's barely half the size of his parents. Unlike his dad who can fit a peanut in each pouch and still carry one in his mouth, Chip still takes just one at a time.
Chip is learning to trust me!
Today was the first day the adolescent chipmunk approached me directly and took food from me. He wasn't quite ready to take a peanut from my hand, but he's never come within 20 feet of me before this.

Piggleston PecanpantsI've been feeding the chipmunks corn, mostly to keep them from decimating the container garden on my deck. The bowl is next to my reading chair. We have a routine. I ask, "do you want some corn?" And the bravest chipmunk stands on their hind legs and looks me straight in the eyes. Today I asked and they leaped onto my chair. I got the message. #chipmunk #deck
