Mites (little insects) on Chinese vetch. There are some flowers in this plot, but not enough to make the places smell as sweet as it does when you crouch down. Maybe it's the variety of life that makes a place smell sweet. It seems a shame to miss out on the variety by keeping plots plowed and barren for plants. The urge to keep land blank must come from an unexamined idea that land is machinery for producing food, exclusively for people.
