Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones are often cited as the main influences on Cui Jian, who is called the "father of Chinese rock". However, it is the Talking Heads and the Clash that must have had the greatest impact, especially in his early performances. We have to agree that he is the first post-punk musician in China.

This latest offering represents a confluence of ambition, ideals and passion, and is definitely worth supporting. The debut album was produced by Yang Haisong and released by Maybe Mars. Guangzhou's 乔迁日 Jo's Moving Day, now disbanded, should be regarded as IFTYAY's predecessor. Their only album is considered a masterpiece of not only the shoegaze scene but Chinese indie rock of the 2020s (for me). Their style has been described as "emogaze", but the distinction between this and conventional style may require further explanation.
