Yesterday I experienced the most intense queer validation and joy. I marched in the Chicago pride parade and carried a flag with my fellow pets in the CPP (Chicago Pet Patrol). For the first time, I felt pride - in myself, in my community, and in my city. I felt parts of myself healed that I never thought could feel love.

Thank you to everyone who organized this, and for the million people who came.

Last night I wandered through the "Bloodsuckers: Legends to Leeches" exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago.

And then attended a strangely wonderful edu-tainment event that combined talks on the exhibit interspersed with drag performances.

I never thought I'd see a drag leech and drag mosquito dancing on stage but, yes, I did and they were awesome!
