Music popularity charts were more fun when there were like six different music trade magazines and none of them told us how their charts were compiled and we never really knew if (for example) #StevieWonder's "Master Blaster" should have peaked at #1 (Cashbox) or #5 (Billboard) or #10 (Variety) or #15 (Record World). Justin also bet by Kacey in the US charts. Week two in the UK it drops to 86 in the UK. Ouch. Still though, not as bad as J.Lo’s recent one week in the charts at 38 (US) / 55 (UK) for her much hyped return album a month ago. Double ouch. #ChartWatch

#Chartwatch Six weeks since its release and Hackney Diamonds is still hanging around the top of the UK album charts. So I guess it’s a hit. (Has dropped to 147 in the US though). Also of note, Ed Sheeran’s new album disappeared off the charts in less than 10 weeks, which is interesting.
