1/ Yesterday, at Heron's Head Park.
I've posted pictures of this pedestrian bridge a half-dozen times before, with different lenses and cameras. This time I let the phone do a panorama stitch... with striking results.

Today's photo? A broody snapshot from 12 years ago, taken on a rainy day using a Retro Camera app on an old HTC Sensation cellphone.
On a personal note, the cancer journey continues. The problem is not cancer directly - I'm good there - but rather the damage from radiation and multiple operations. Per Tuesday's exam, my much-admired butt is not healing well. So the plan is to look again in mid-May and consult with an ass specialist to see if there is anything else that can be done short of another surgery.
Needless to say, I'm a bit downcast. But at least I got cleared to rejoin the gym (no squats though). So there's that. I can work with that.
I should probably explain the hashtag #NatureyCrap.
So... I have lived in major cities (New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) for over half a century. I like pavement and buildings and places with sidewalks.
In fact, my LinkedIn profile used to say "Bob is a long-time city-dweller who generally dislikes naturey crap and strongly believes that anything green and bushy should be grown in a pot, not the ground, so it can more easily thrown away when it inevitably dies."
True to form, this is our backyard. It is small, with lots of hardscape plus a few plants that grow in pots. We don't have trees because trees drop leaves.
Our backyard also has bright colors that can easily be spotted from the orbiting ISS 👋
A window view from the top floor of the four-story Starbucks Reserve Roastery on Michigan Ave in Chicago.
Don't mind the fingerprints, this was taken at the end of the night and the window was pretty dirty.

San Francisco Bay, October 18th, 2023.
A cellphone panorama taken at Heron's Head Park a couple of months ago. The phone's stitching is a bit lumpy but I like the way the lighting turned out.
I need to try this again with a tripod and DSLR.

Goodbye, Asheville.
I'm headed home.
