Cecile Richards has died. She was the daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards. Ms. Richards served as the president of Planned Parenthood from 2006 to 2018. In 2023 she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. She was 67.

Cecile Richards, former Planned Parenthood president and feminist activist, has died of an aggressive brain cancer at age 67. She entered politics as a teenager, working on a campaign to elect Sarah Weddington, the lawyer who fought Texas' abortion ban in Roe v. Wade, to the state legislature. She continued to work as an activist and reproductive rights advocate all her life, most recently helping launch a chatbot that provided information about where and how people could terminate their pregnancies.
