In Folge 1024px Auflösung, angeblich so tolle Spieledienstevorbereitung scheitert wohl am Treiber. Muss weg, muss was anderes haben... also neuer Stick, aber nicht von hier.
Notebook ist M1 MacBook Air, tolles Ding meistens, aber es entuppt sich als die Hölle von da aus einen neue USB Stick vorzubereiten, wirklich härter als auf Linux und ich musste mit SUDO über die Kommandozeile.
Jetzt #CatchyOS , aus der Box heraus korrekte Auflösung und kein Ticken, schreibe von Mozilla aus, auch fein.

Ich glaube du hast die besten Karten mit #CatchyOS mit deinem modernen System. Da werde ich aus anderen Gruenden jetzt erstenalinstallieren, nachdem die letzte Installation wegen veralteter Hardware (1080GTX) gescheitert ist.

Yesterday's technology amusement:

Installing #Jellyfin on a 2025 #Samsung TV using a mid-2010 #macbook pro running #linux #catchyos on kernel 6.18.2-1.

So much for planned obsolescence.

The original battery is showing 78% health. (I don't believe that part but it does last more than an hour unplugged)

I am now running #catchyos as my main desktop #linux os.

It's Arch but made by someone who read the manual, enjoys user choice, and likes gaming.

Seeing nearly every relevant desktop as selectable on install was quite refreshing, as are the kernel tweaks and things toggled "on" that I'd probably never know about, or even read about.

Update Installation #catchyos: ich bin mir nun fast sicher das mein thinkpad sich am aktuellen wayland "verschluckt". Außerdem gibt es Probleme mit hyperland und den shortkeys. Was allerdings funzt: habe xfce nachinstalliert und passe es so an das es hyperland imitiert. Und als Zusatz: nutze zum ersten mal #arch (zuvor ubuntu) und es fühlt sich spitze an... #linux #gtk #xfce #Hyperland

@Kroc I’ve been having a blast with #catchyos. First gaming using proton and a 9070XT and then passing through the GPU, USB, NVME to a kvm guest to test out FSR4. Proton gaming basically just worked out of the box. Now I’ve reverted back to proton since the latest updates allows you to cram FSR4 into titles even if they don’t natively support it. zfs on root via the default installer, performance optimizations out the wazoo for zen5, the list goes on. Wish you luck!

Done with my #linux #benchmark. Tested #Aeon, #Manjaro, #Ubuntu, #Fedora and #CatchyOS using the Unigne Valley, Blender and Geekbench 6 benchmarks. Also I carried out a battery drain test. Not sure if I am satisfied with the way I made the benchmarks and compiling them into a short video.
