So turns out the "flat cat 7 cable" I got about 10 years ago with a length of 15m for about 20 bucks was a scam. Was fine enough for lan but trying to push HDMI over it shows how much interferences it causes in itself (As about half of it's length is spooled).

Not really surprising but I didn't expect it to be that shitty either.
Probably the next "project" to change that one. Then I also can cut it open, as it was getting "heavy use" by passing through the door right next to the hinges… #CAT7

Question: Now that I have the #CAT7 & #CAT6 ran in the house, do I splurge for the CAT 7 termination/ends, keystones, panel, etc. or do I just use the CAT 6 that I have on hand/procured?

I ran both to the drops, now to terminate - wall plates & patch panel. procured shielded CAT 6, started shopping for CAT 7 and the sticker shock for someone who is unemployed....

Hmm can you run a SDR antenna behind a CAT 7 cable or would I have to run a dedicated coax cable right next to a CAT7 cable for that?

(The alternative would be to run a "Duplex" CAT7 cable, aka 2 joined together on the plastic).

Ich habe einen #POE-Switch mit 30W pro Port. Daran möchte ich ein POE-Endgerät mit 9W betreiben. Das ganze soll an einem 100m #CAT7 Kabel betrieben werden.

Funktioniert das noch, oder ist der Spannungsabfall auf die Entfernung schon zu gross? Gibt der #Switch immer 30W und das Endgerät nimmt sich dann nur 9W?

Gerne Boost für mehr Reichweite.

wiso funktioniern 45gg stecker für cat 7 besser , die oberen beiden zusatz bins werden doch mit verschaltet (mit den backwards kompatieblen pins in der unterseite (mitte) um damit höhere bandbreiten zu ermöglichen damit sich dei daten nicht stören, was aber passieren sollte wenn sie neben einander liegen und sogar abgenommen werden oder sin die induktivitäts effekte geringer durch die paralelschaltung zweier pins, die aber eigendlich minimal mer ist erschaffen sollten.
im wikipedia artikel bekomme ich da nicht die daten bzw. erklährungen raus die ich gerne hätte :3
