Feeling very cheerful right now. Was getting increasingly stressed and p*&sed off that my backup car, which I had on CarNextDoor for over a year, was going to sit idle while we're away on holidays, whereas it used to earn its keep when not in use by me (waiting for new Minicab-MiEV to come from Japan atm). I delisted it when CND was bought and rebranded as Uber Carshare. I listed it on DriveMyCar but the service is a dinosaur and takes a MASSIVE commission and it hasn't had any bookings for the amount I expect to earn from it compared to CND. Tried to list on Turo which just launched in AU, but they don't allow cars older than 10 years even though my car has a very low odo for its age (2008).
This morning I randomly looked on the Play store to see if DriveMyCar had an app, and lo, I found Drive Mate - which seems to be very similar to CND except it has flat rate hire, more like traditional hire cars, but otherwise very similar. It never showed up on a web search for Car Sharing, stupidly. EASY to list. Has terrible reviews on Trustpilot and Play store, which seems to be down to specific bad hires. Really hope it works as well as CND. Crossing fingers! I had just about given up there would be anything to move to.
