Lucia of Syracuse (c. 283 – 304 AD), also called #SaintLucia (#Latin: Sancta Lucia) and better known as Saint Lucy, was a #Roman #ChristianMartyr who died during the #DiocletianicPersecution. She is venerated as a saint in #Catholic, #Anglican, #Lutheran, #EasternOrthodox and #OrientalOrthodox Christianity. She is one of eight women (including #theVirginMary) explicitly commemorated by Catholics in the #CanonOfTheMass. Her traditional feast day, known in Europe as #SaintLucysDay.
