There's been a lot of newspapers closed lately, but this one hurts the most. The Whitehorse Daily Star was one of my first jobs in journalism and was independently owned.

It's the second newspaper I worked at that's closed over the last 14 months. The Cold Lake Sun was quietly shuttered in February 2023.
