I am am pretty sure I had the Nelsonic California Raisins watch (1988), though it sadly was not long for this world. I have a vague fever dream memory of sorts of it breaking.
For my fall music festival #subgenius ministry, I shall be assembling the usual gnome village, religious services tent and I will be dressing as Hunter S. Thompson an acting accordingly for a variety of reasons.
I will be adding some #CaliforniaRaisins themed stuff too now, i suppose.
@johnhattan I actually never thought of that. Doing a #subgenius / #californiaraisins mystery bag of figures to mail out might be fun. I could even airbrush them purple if need be.
Buddy Miles, of both Jimi Hendrix and #CaliforniaRaisins fame, was inducted into the National Rhythm and Blues Hall of fame in 2024, which I find to be a nice conclusion to his legacy as well.
I always wanted the Hardee's #CaliforniaRaisins figures, but alas was never able to obtain them due to no Hardee's existing in my area. Though I did see their commercials.

I remember thinking, specifically about CCR, how odd it was that this band was covering the #CaliforniaRaisins initially, I figured it out eventually though.
I also rented a lot of #MichaelJackson and (even) the #Jackson5 on VHS as well, through my parents, of course.
If it was not for the #CaliforniaRaisins , I highly doubt a young child (that was trying to figure out how to mail his allowance to the IRA - not kidding) would have ever learned of CCR, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, La Bamba, etc.
I always found it fascinating how many of my fellow #subgenius faith members have such specific niche interests, when compared to those of lesser faiths...

In addition to outstanding Buddy Miles music, there is a wide variety of California Raisins ephemera that can be purchased.
This includes coin banks, watches, keychains, car window shades, etc. Additionally, the long defunct fanclub, I vaguely recall, also produced possibly some/all of the previously mentioned trinkets, as well as T-shirts. You can find this stuff at flea markets/boot sales, antique stores and online for relatively little cost.
