NASA earth observation satellites have been shown to be able to locate the approximate positions of GPS jammers - typically within 3-6kms.

Researchers looked at data from the Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) and NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR), satellites to locate known GPS jammer sites (in Iran) and indicate how this information has potential usefulness for supporting the creation and distribution of warnings for aviation and maritime navigation that may be affected by GPS jammers. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/05/nasa-satellites-can-spot-gps-jammers-on-earth/

Finally my paper looking at #AtmosphericRivers is out!

"How River-like ARE Atmospheric Rivers?”

VERY-- they take moisture from 1000's km and 10deg equatorward than your average storm.

#NASA #CYGNSS - GPS array that looks at how choppy the ocean surface is to determine surface wind speed and heat fluxes compares well w simulations from the #NASAGISS climate model w include a tracer suite that identifies where moisture in the atmosphere originally evaporated from.
