That would be great for users, but how many websites would honor it? Too much marketing relies on deceptive patterns--like urgency, confirm-shaming, and sensationalism--that deliberately increase anxiety.

After attending a session named "Visual Tracking and Readability Issues on Mobile" at #CSUNATC23 last month, I downloaded BeeLine Reader, a browser add-on, to give it a try. I've been using it ever since. My eyes benefit form being pulled to the correct place in the next line by the matching color, as shown here.

The downside is: it's hard to get it to work on #Android. Here's the chronicle of my (partly successful) attempts:
