I'm putting together slides for my students to summarize the #CAPCongress25 and I decided to include snaps of my (extensive) notes where possible. I don't think people emphasize note-taking enough any more and it's an invaluable element in my arsenal of learning tools. Here's a look at what my notes look like. I've always felt they should be readable but expressive.

Thanks to #USask for hosting this year’s #CAPCongress25 It was an exhausting but also deeply informative meeting.

The Canadian Association of Physicists marks both a remarkable person and a remarkable (and terrible) time in history with their Herzberg Medal. Luise Herzberg, his spouse and research colleague, faced persecution by the Nazis in the 1930s. A colleague from #USask arranged a pathway to a new life in Canada.

Herzberg won the 1971 #NobelPrize in Chemistry for insights into molecular structure.

Had a great tour of the STOR-M plasma tokamak at University of Saskatchewan. The team showed us what it looks like when they inject a pulse and generate a plasma in the device, which you can see as the bright red-blue flash in the photo below. It lasts about 30 milliseconds. #USask #physics #CAPCongress25 #CAP
