Hip Hip Hooray! It's the Burryman's Day!
Every year this ceremonial walking of the bounds happens in South Queensferry. The Burryman is completely covered in burrs from burdock plants and walks all the streets of the town to ensure prosperity for the year ahead. This is a photo from 2015 when I last went to see it.

Mein Schottland

South Queensferry, Scotland

Burryman Andrew Taylor parades through town encased in burrs. The annual burryman event, in which a local man is dressed head-to-toe in burdock heads, ferns and flowers, dates back to the 18th century and is believed to bring good luck and strengthen community spirit.
