Thursday, January 1, 2026 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Start the year on 2 wheels! Join us for a Community Bike Ride on New Years Day. Meet at the Elgan Street Promenade Portal at 12:00 Noon on 2026-01-01. Bring your bicycle, bell, helmet, and warm layers. (Hint: ski jacket & helmet, mittens, balaclava!) This is an all-ages & abilities, no-drop, fun ride suitable for families. Ride duration is about 1 hour, mostly on multiuse path and quiet neighbourhood streets.

In what nimby world is 11 stories too tall? Don’t people understand we all have a right to have places to live? It’s called a housing crisis for a reason. This is a fast growing urban area with many older buildings that are already 20+ stories. It’s on a busy main road steps from a major highway with mixed retail and commercial, not a quiet side street.
