Three years ago today, I spun out my bike and broke my ankle in the middle of the Elliott State Forest. With the then-very-new #Boygenius song "Not Strong Enough" bouncing through my head, I stood on one leg, lifted the bike back up, and followed the map to the nearest exit from the forest. I hit snow, and a mile later I was confronted by a fallen tree across the road. So, one-legged in the snow, I turned the bike around and headed back out the way I came, 20 miles in first gear, the line "always an angel never a god" on continuous loop in my brain, over and over and over until I could see the hospital and my brain gave me the rest of the song.

Jay Som because Past Lives is simply a beautiful song and she has a connection with #boygenius. Newdad because apparently Robert Smith loves them (hugely important when making decisions about records) and I've had Dream Of Me in my head for days. Love the intro too, it's almost Tristeza. The Greeting Committee because it was on #SomaFM and loved the song. And Sea Lemon because it is on Soma FM right now as we speak. A duet with Benjamin f***ing Gibbard. Yes, big Death Cab fan here.
