GGPS / Outside: Our map layers are *amazing*, and we let you add detailed notes and elevation profiles, and drop photo tagged datapoints. Our UI is simple, elegant, and... oh we randomly lock out of the entire system when out of signal range and won't let you see where you or where you're going in the middle of an impenetrable rainforest gully, and we make every marker you ever made completely public too, ya know...Endangered species? Fragile envrionment? WTF is that?!

Garmin: Out setup is absolutely bulletproof and will work covered in mud, dropped on rocks, in the water. It runs of AA batteries and SD cards from the 90s. It will lock onto a gazillion different satelite systems and unless you're in a frikkin cave, you *will* get a fix. We'll get you home, come what may. Oh just a heads up, our map layers are a ugly, confusing mess and good luck planning any trails on desktop.... or leaving any notes or images whatsoever about any trail. Oh you want to sync to mobile? Good luck figuring out which one of our twenty seven completely random apps actually does that. Good luck getting those map layers on the app by the way.
