All Restrictions Lifted on Boone Fire

Cal Fire has the Boone Fire 83% contained, holding steady with 17,600 acres burned.

All Evac orders and warnings have been lifted in this area west of Coalinga. Previously blocked off roads have reopened as well.

All evacuation warnings have been lifted in Fresno and Monterey counties, per Cal Fire Fresno on X.

Evacuation orders remain for Fresno County Zones 12C, 21C, and 22C, which are largely confined to the fire perimeter.

Incident Update: 17,766 Acres and 34% contained.

The fire has mainly been creeping and smoldering in rugged terrain within the fire perimeter. Crews will continue suppression repairs, establishing and strengthening control lines. Today, firefighters will be shuttle by helicopter into the north-west remote area of the fire perimeter to construct containment lines. Helicopter shuttling is commonly used in situations where steep and rugged terrain makes hiking into the fire zones dangerous and more susceptible to accidents.
