I suppose if I’m gonna be honest though, the last time I shaved was Aug 28, 1968, my first full day at college, because I didn’t like how my chin looked. But it never once occurred to me to take a hammer to it.

I just heard about a new #looksMaxxing thing that young men (mostly, I guess, but some women too) are doing. It’s called #boneSmashing. It’s where you whack your cheekbones with a hammer, repeatedly, in order to attain some sort of “chiseled” look. Damn.

"Bonesmashing is big enough that doctors have sent at least two letters to the Journal of Stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery warning about the practice’s spread on social media. One letter, from Dr. Ricardo Grillo of Brazil, cautions that the risks “encompass a range of severe maxillofacial injuries” which can cause “cosmetic disfigurement, functional impairment and other potential long-term consequences.”"
