Writer-director-star Noah Segan replaces horror with ❤️ & dad jokes in "Blood Relatives", conjuring up an uncannily sweet, endearing father-daughter story. Francis looks 35 but is a 115-year-old jewish vampire. One night, 15-year-old Jane shows up claiming to be his daughter. The 2 embark on a road trip to find out if/how they can be family. A movie that feels like a pilot. It's a pity that this is not a TV show. A lovely, funny film I sincerely enjoyed. 👌 💗 🕶️

Of all the backward antisemitic canards that somehow persist to this day, arguably the most egregious is the blood libel — which is why it’s a shame that Blood Relatives, with its intriguing premise of a Jewish vampire, turns out to be such a bloodless affair, both literally and more importantly figuratively.

Европейцы пробуют себя в японском жанре, "обычная скучная жизнь".

Бессмертный вампир, еврей, созданный посредством какого-то ритуала родственниками во время Второй Мировой Войны "чтобы выжил", встречается с дочкой-полукровкой, сбежавшей из дома. И она заставляет его бросить вольную жизнь, найти работу, сменить диету. На новой диете он становится толстоым и лысым. И бухает.

Фильм про то, что нужно делать выбор, "что тебе важнее? Дети, или всё?". Выбираешь детей, и вся остальная жизнь кончается. Даже у вампира.

IMDB 5.6. Я бы побольше дал, 6.0. Есть сюжет, есть игра актёров. Есть смысл и юмор.

Рекомендую. Взрослым погоревать про кончившуюся жизнь, школота с удовольствием поиграет в вампиршу 14 лет, истеричку, убивающую направо и налево.

Watched Blood Relatives on Shudder this morning. It was a cute, warming story. Some of the jokes were good, others were terrible, but I hated no one and there was a goat.
