Until I made the mistake of checking Twitter, I didn't realize there was negative commentary about Messi being given a #bisht after winning the #WorldCup. Lots of thinly veiled anti-Arabism.

My siblings in #whiteness, giving #Messi a bisht isn't #sportswashing. It's just culture that isn't your own. Settle down.

I wore a bisht at my wedding that was given to me in Bahrain. It's a ceremonial garment.
