One of my favorite moments of the spring - hearing the first Scarlet Tanager. It was up on the ridge and across the ravine. Saw a flash of red before it bolted further away. Now I’ll spend the summer trying to photograph it. 🤭 In the meantime, here’s a recording. You can hear it at the very beginning and very end of the sound file.
The roar you hear in the background is the brook, so turn volume up.
We just got buzzed by five very upset geese, two pairs and one straggler, low enough to hear their feathers rustle.
