I don't think the comparison holds water, in that case it was genuinely expensive, by comparison €127k is significantly more reasonable, but also the Leinster house bike shed wasn't publicly accessible and fed into a conception of the politicos lavishing largesse on themselves. A bike shed at a hospital is by contrast an amenity for everyone, very different.

Genuine question. Can any #mastodaoine explain what the Land Development Agency does? Apparently they now have a budget of €6.25 billion. That's a lot of #bikeSheds and #childrenshospital s, and you could certainly build a lot of #housing for it.

This is very sloppy stuff from #RTE.
Yeah, the bike sheds were way too expensive, but the RTE report is a complete mess.
It's like Micheal Lehane was only half-listening to what was being said.

Has anyone here installed or used a bike ramp on stairs in their place of residence? I currently store my ~60 lb ebike in the basement of my triple-decker apartment building, which involves carrying/carefully rolling it down and up 5 or so stairs.
