Who Knew?
Today I learned about the pudendal nerve and cyclist’s syndrome. Prolonged pressure from bicycle seats can cause numbness, pain and burning “down there.” The resulting nerve damage can cause GI problems, incontinence, and erectile dysfunction.
Solutions? Use a saddle with cutouts or pressure-relief channels, lower the seat, or tilt it slightly downwards, or get out of the saddle more often.
