Yes indeed, I remember the tune and the programme, and yes, it is a fine tune in its own right. Barry Norman was a joy to watch, elegant and charming, the master of the little side remark that hints at deeper criticism. He was intelligent, but always with the mainstream viewer in mind, a cinematic democrat. Perhaps overly conventional, but someone has to fill that role and he filled it well. Thanks for the link to the tune and for making me remember Barry Norman.
