Of late, there is a surge of interest in simplicity in #IT. Natural, considering how unnecessarily complicated the field has become in recent years.
There is a need for a communal effort to establish simple technology standards for OSs, languages, frameworks—the lot.
It is preferable to have a minimal, Turing-complete system that comes with just the #BareNecessities, but allows the community to add necessary (and nice-to-have) features in the field, instead striving for a complete, perfect system that tries to be everything and tries to please everyone.
In computing, as in the broader context of engineering, there is no such thing as "complete" or "perfect". All manmade things are compromises, at best. So, let us be humble and aim for #simplicity, instead of perfection.
