We have a lot of blind and partially sighted users on the fediverse. Accessibility is important here, and as such, it's good form to include image descriptions (alt text) when we add media to our posts. When someone uses a screenreader to read the timeline, and the screenreader comes to an image with no alt text, it just says 'image' (as far as I know). That's boring, unhelpful, and provides no clue as to what the image actually *is*. This differs slightly depending on how you're using (cont)

A favorite neighborhood tree sketched for #BadTreeThursday. I think it's a cork oak. I sketched it using Derwent drawing pencils and the Derwent line and wash pan set.

Another piece of art therapy that I held back because I was ashamed to share and despite how simplistic it is, it’s revealing. You know, if I bothered telling you what it’s about.

I’m occasionally haunted by an episode of House where a kid was drawing all these creepy pictures, but it turned out he had tiny worms in his eyes. He was just drawing what he saw.
