wohoo, went out to scout for a few sandstone blocks to boulder on, after getting a topo for a location i wasn’t aware of yet. mother wanted to come along because she likes hiking and is increasingly taken by the beauty of big chunks of rocks lying around.

all went well, all blocks found, and they look really fun. good mix of easy and tough problems on them, but they look as if they haven’t been climbed on for over a season, so cleaning them is in order. and while it is surface-level dry right now, it was noticeable we’ve had a good bit of rain, and water was still pushing out of the hillside over the larger, non-freestanding blocks.

but a nice day out was had, and i’ll be back for sure!
