#SantaBarbara 018 (1984) - 7/10
Wednesday, August 22, 1984.
1️⃣ Other than a big development at the very end - Joe and Kelly kiss! - not much happens in this episode. Jade frets about her big screentest, but her comedic antics grow tiresome before long. And Santana finds Cruz a new home. The actors (#AvaLazar, #AMartinez) have fantastic chemistry, but you kinda feel like their flirtations are going nowhere.

Two characters (and their storylines) largely drive the action here: Joe, and Santana.
1️⃣ #DaneWitherspoon and #AvaLazar were featured heavily in the early promos, and the show is certainly delivering on the (implied) promise to keep them front and center.
3️⃣ Another highlight is Santana (#AvaLazar) confronting Mason (#LaneDavies) while he is skulking around her apartment.
4️⃣ Dominic appears for the first time. And Gina is mentioned, when CC phones her to talk about Brandon. No doubt anymore about him being a bad guy…
3️⃣ The best storyline is probably the slow-burning one with Mason and Santana. He says he wants to help her. But can he be trusted? Both #AvaLazar and (particularly) #LaneDavies are great in these scenes.
