It's funny to think just how long it took some of the big British colonies to achieve full independence. In #Australia's case, it happened on #ThisDayInHistory in 1986 with the #AustraliaActs, removing Westminster's ability to legislate for Australia or serve as an appeals court.

I reckon #PatCummins got it about right

“I absolutely love #Australia. It’s the best country in the world by a mile. We should have an Australia Day, but we can probably find a more appropriate day to celebrate it,” Cummins said.
