Wenn man sich schon die Mühe macht, astronomische Highlights im Kalender zu notieren, sollte man auch die Uhrzeit dazuschreiben – sonst blickt man abends in den Himmel, wundert sich, warum man nichts sieht, und merkt zu spät: Es liegt nicht an den Wolken, sondern daran, dass die wunderschöne Konstellation aus Mondsichel, Venus und Saturn bereits am frühen Morgen über die Himmelsbühne gezogen ist.

NGC 7822.. after capturing about 10h of data of this object I decided to look up its name. Some resources say it's a Question Mark Nebula, others call it a Flaming Skull Nebula... whatever it might be, it doesn't fully fit in my frame so here's a chunk of it.. #AstroFail

This is what happens when you run a high-ISO wide angle astrophotography camera too close to a light polluted horizon.

I was trying to capture the faint aurora that was manifesting, but that green glow is not it. That is pure light pollution.

It is, however, an extremely funky image in its own right, so a bit of post to clean up the noise, and to bump the saturation even more, and here we are with it. Note that we still get Crux, and A and B Centaurus (the Pointers).
