Skywarden just got a framing assistant. Open any object, get a rotatable, draggable FOV overlay on a real sky survey image - sized to your exact optics and sensor.

Auto-rotates to best fit the object into your frame. For larger targets, it calculates the mosaic tile grid too.

OK THIS IS KEWL!

Astrophotographer Ron Brecher captured amazing image of "Thor's Helmet" an emission nebula (NGC 2359) in constellation Canis Major shining 15,000 light-years away from Earth.

This Nebula is 30-light years wide with its bubble like form sculpted by the stellar wind blasting out from the colossal Wolf-Rayet star. https://www.space.com/stargazing/astrophotography/astrophotographer-spies-thors-helmet-shining-15-000-light-years-away-in-spectacular-photo

The Leo Triplet - three spiral galaxies 35 million light-years away in Leo.

NGC 3628 appears perfectly edge-on, its dust lane and warped disk shaped by billions of years of tidal interaction. M65 and M66 complete the trio with asymmetric arms and disrupted structure.

Skywarden - Deep-sky object finder for astrophotographers

Find the best deep-sky targets for tonight based on location, equipment, and conditions.

As an amateur #astronomer and #astrophotographer, I often use parsecs as a unit of measure.

Turns out a certain well known #astrophysicist hates them.

And for good reason.
