I hauled a giant observatory across the entire country.
Melbourne to Perth. 3.5 days. One trailer. Endless servo coffee.

We crossed the Nullarbor, hit the longest straight road in Australia, visited the Skylab crash site, and had a few mild existential crises along the way.

Now the dome lives in WA, ready to do some science. Because… science. Obviously.

I think about this thing more often than most people I would wager, but my money on the first, mind blowing evidence that we are not alone (and all it's implications) would some clearly artificial meddling around or with a star.

Such technological prowess would be a bold statement for a number a reasons, maybe it was practical, maybe it's a lure....
