Arthur Chandler was a British-Australian merchant marine officer turned prolific science fiction author. Best known for his Rim Worlds series and its hero John Grimes, the "Hornblower of Space," he wrote over 40 novels drawing on decades at sea to bring realism to life aboard starships.
