Thinking about how "#Yiff" doesn't technically always mean #sex or #pornography, but can often just mean generally edgy or flippant #furry #art. Like, it's not necessarily sex, just sexualization, or even acknowledgment of #sexuality...
I often feel like yiff acts more of an #ArtMovement than a category, having asked the question a long time ago, "Do these #anthropomorphic characters have sex? And is is it okay to depict that?" and then roling with the answer of "yes" for the past few decades.
This is especially compounded when you think of how much yiff art is of the fursonas of actual real life couples, meaning yes, these characters are having sex, in real life, and no one should have a problem with that. Also how much of the rest of it is of one person's fursona engaging in a sexual fantasy that that person wanted to explore.
In a sense, this gives rise to a yiff #subculture, where #furries are far more open and accepting of the reality of sexual interests.
