Good planting weather! One rose bush Archduke Charles, a small pot of Greek oregano, and dwarf agapanthus Peter Pan all went into the ground this morning. Now they are being watered in by the rain. 💙

A desert vignette from yesterday tweaked a little extra high-key to show the brilliance and beauty in one of these apparently random groupings. A small patch of prickly pear growing under desert scrub--in this case I think it was whitethorn acacia.

Happy winter solstice!
Cholla is greeting the solstice down in the canyon. Originally I meant to express the relative warmth of desert winter, but I think all I really captured was the relative prickliness of it--which is high. Perhaps the blue sky will be comforting to friends in stormy weather today though!
