Remember the old UK bakelite 13A plugs?

If you dropped them on a stone or concrete floor they would crack and/or break.

If the plug was deemed to be repairable it was a case of dismantle the plug and grab the tubes of Araldite from where they were stored.

Then carefully glue the broken bits back together, taping them for 24 hours while the epoxy resin hardened and then the plug could be screwed back together the day after.

After using the last of my #araldite I checked the price at Woolies, Bunnings, and Coles.

Woolies and Bunnings were within cents of each other, but #Coles - 🤯

After #Araldite being part of my life for about 50 years, I've just realised that you can get the last even mix out of mismatched tubes by cutting the joining bit at the top of the plunger, making 2 separately controllable plungers.
🤦‍♂️

anyone can tell me why bog standard #Araldite #epoxy shouldn't work to a high gloss finish?

i'd rather not buy a liter of epoxy if all i need is three drops of Araldite / Locktite.

but i need it to polish well to a high shine #resin #woodwork
