it's always bothered me that people call #Apachekafka a database but it's certainly not a cache either.
Maybe I have figured out how to explain this to folks:
Messaging Systems: This is takeout/takeaway. Data goes in & if not immediately picked up it gets discarded.
Kafka and things like #ApachePulsar: Restaurant. You don't immediately leave.
Database: You live here. There are mansions. There are condos. There are chateaus. Lots of different types but if you data doesn't live here not db
If there is something that is open source (as in an OSI-approved license) that we do not currently support, ask! One thing that has been on our radar for a while is #ApachePulsar. We are shocked people aren't asking for it.
Our target market are enterprises. I'm not going to tell you not to look at the page if you are a start-up, but you need to have significant capital.

Same as me. Slow as hell. Yeah, so parallel all the things, hey? I was wondering if there would be a way to just use some boxed generic algo that would pull all the data for me and loas balance all things. Iโm looking at Kafka Connect or maybe Pulsar?
